The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of Tribulus Tresstrise (TT) herb on sex ratio of semen in Arabic Khouzestan ram using real time-qPCR technique using 18 rams in a completely randomized design with 3 treatments. The SRY and PLP genes were amplified to isolate the specific fragments of Y- and X- chromosome sequences. The treatments included: i) the control group (0% TT), ii) Diet containing 15 g/kg TT, iii) Diet containing 30 g/kg TT. Sperm sampling was taken from all rams at 10 month of age and blood sampling was performed at 8 and 10 month of age. The results showed that expression rate of SRY gene increased with increasing TT level and rams that received 30 g/kg TT diet had the highest SRY gene expression and PLP gene expression decreased with increasing TT level (p-value =0.004). There was positive correlation between Testosterone concentration and SRY gene expression at 8 (0.65) and 10 (0.59) month of age, and the relationship between PLP gene expression and Testosterone concentration was negative and -0.61 and -0.66 at 8 and 10 month of age, respectively (p-value= 0.006). The results indicated that adding Tribulus Tresstrise herb to the ram diet increases the SRY gene expression and also sperm containing Y chromosome. In other words, it increases the sex ratio toward male gens in Arabic Khozestan ram by increasing the androgen hormones.

The effects of two different extenders were investigated (Tris- egg yolk and Andromed extenders) on semen quality and sex ratio during the dilution and freezing process in Holstien bull by using the real-time qPCR technique. The experiment was conducted using four 4-years old Holstien bulls for a period of four weeks in a completely randomized design. The PLP and SRY genes were amplified to isolate the specific fragments of X- and Y- chromosome sequences, respectively. Using Andromed diluent in comparison with Tris- eggs yolk improved semen quality during freezing and thawing. Using Andromed extender significantly increased the PLP gene expression (1.43±0.16), (P= 0/01) and reduced SRY gene expression (0.64±0.11), (P= 0/009). Using Tris- egg yolk extender led to a significant reduced in expression of PLP gene (0.3±0.06), (P< 0/0001) and s increased SRY gene expression during freezing (1.19±0.05), (P= 0/001). Based on the results, sperm dilution with Andromed extender and frozen semen with Tris-egg yolk increase birth of female and male in dairy cow herd, respectively.

This study was conducted to investigate the Single nucleotide polymorphism of STAT1 gene by PCR-RFLP technique and association of genotypes with milk production traits in Brown Swiss dairy cattle. The blood samples of ninety-eight cows were collected randomly from tail vein. The DNA was extracted with Cinagene kit (PR881612C). Fragment of 314 bp in 3'UTR of STAT1 gene was amplified by PCR and digested by Pag1 restriction enzyme. Genotype frequencies were calculated by PopGene software (version 1.31). The SAS 9.1 software was used for statistical analysis and the mean of traits was compared by Duncan test. The genotypefrequencies of TT, TC and CC were 0.23, 0.25 and 0.52, respectively. The T and C allele frequency were 0.355 and 0.645, respectively. The expected heterozygosity was estimated 0.458. Result of Chi-square showed that this locus was not in the Hardy Weinberg equilibrium (P<0.05). The means of traits for milk, fat percent and fat yield, and protein yield were not significant but means of protein percent was significant (P<0.05). The mean of milk, fat and protein yield traits for CC genotype were more than two other genotypes. The results of present study showed that T allele is known as minor frequency allele and C allele have positive effect on milk, fat and protein yield traits.

Genetic parameters direct and maternal in Fars native flows using the Bayesian statistical approach, was estimation with consider body weight at a day of age (BW1), body weight at eight weeks of age (BW8), body weight at 12 weeks of age (BW12), age at sexual maturity (ASM), egg number (EGP) and mean egg weight during 28th, 30th and 32nd week ages (AV283032) Fars native flows. Genetic parameters were estimated by six different animal models and MTGSAM software. The best model was determined using the Akaike information criterion for each trait. The direct heritability (h2) estimates basis best model BW1, BW8, BW12, ASM, EGP and AV283032 0.36, 0.33, 0.30, 0.48, 0.26 and 0.25, respectively. Maternal effects were significant for ASM, EGP and AV283032 traits studied and estimates of maternal environmental variance as a proportion of phenotypic variance (c2) varied from 0.01 (EGP and AV283032) to 0.39 (BW1). Results present research showed that Bayesian approach by considering all factors more complicated models was selected as a model.

In order to investigate the effect of different levels of silymarin (0, 100 and 200 mg/kg diet) onperformance, carcass characteristics, blood parameters and antioxidant status, 120 day-old chicks wereassigned to 3 treatments with four replicates and 10 birds in each in a completely randomized design. Results showed supplementation of 200 mg silymarin significantly decreased the body weight gain(BWG) in starter (P<0.05) and whole period of experiment (P<0.01) and significantly increased feedconversion ratio at starter (P<0.05), grower (P<0.05) and total rearing periods (P<0.01). Also, addition of100 mg silymarin significantly increased the carcass relative weight (P<0.01) and supplementation of 200mg silymarin significantly increased the breast relative weight (P<0.05). Furthermore, 200 mg silymarinsignificantly increased the malondialdehyde and heterophil/ lymphocyte ratio and significantly decreasedsuperoxide dismutase (P<0.05). These results showed that supplementation of silymarin in diet undernormal condition, improved the carcass and breast relative weight, but no had effect on bird’s oxidativestatus.
